CIH, Senior Industrial Hygienist, Cal/OSHA Enforcement, Region 3

David is the Senior Industrial Hygienist for Cal/OSHA’s Region 3 Enforcement Office.  He is a CIH and CSP with a Master of Public Health from UC Berkely. Previously, he worked in Cal/OSHA’s Publications Unit, where he wrote and developed facts sheets, model programs, FAQ’s, educational materials, and created web content on various Cal/OSHA regulations and issues such as Indoor Heat Illness Prevention, Silica ETS, tree trimming, and aerosol transmissible diseases.

His background before Cal/OSHA spans multiple industrial sectors, including biopharmaceuticals, construction, academia, and consulting, where he developed strong skills in air sampling, ventilation, PPE and respirators, noise, heat, and training. Working for Cal/OSHA is a continuation of his passion and commitment to doing impactful work that began during his time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Tonga shortly after graduating from college at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
