STAR Program Sign-Up Instructions

If You Are an Existing State Fund Online User

Note: You can only register for the STAR program within the 2-month window following your policy inception date.

If you are the system administrator, the STAR Program invitation will automatically appear after you have logged in to State Fund Online. If you are not the system administrator, the current administrator can assign you as the secondary administrator by checking both the User Administration box and the Manage STAR Program box. For instructions, see page four of the State Fund Online Registration Guide.

Once you accept the invitation and fill out the sign up form, you will be enrolled in the program. You will receive an email confirmation from Safety Support to confirm your enrollment.

Anxious to get started? Your next steps are to take the pre-survey and upload your Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) into State Fund’s IIPP Builder. If you do not yet have an IIPP, you can create one in State Fund’s IIPP Builder.

If You Are Not Yet Registered With State Fund Online

To sign up for the STAR Program, you must first be registered and have an active account in State Fund Online. The steps below will guide you in creating an account and signing up for STAR. For detailed instructions, review the State Fund Online Registration Guide.

Step 1

Go to www.StateFundCA.com and click “Log In” in the upper right. In the next window, click “I am an Employer”. State Fund Online will then prompt you for the necessary information for creating an account.

Step 2

After filling out the prompts and clicking submit, you will receive an activation email from postmaster@scif.com. The email will be sent to the email address that was provided when you signed up in State Fund Online. The activation link will expire after 7 days. You must click that link to finish the sign up process with 7 days, or you will have to begin the process again with a different email address.

Step 3

Once you activate the link, you will be returned to the log in screen and see the message THANKS FOR SIGNING UP at the top of the page. Now you are able to log in with the user ID and password you created on the sign-up form.

Step 4

You then need to link your policy information to your State Fund Online account. The system will prompt you for the information needed, and you can find the information on your policy declarations. Ensure you enter your information exactly as it shows on the declarations document.

You now have an active State Fund Online account. If you are within two months after your policy inception date, you will be prompted to register for the STAR program. For more info return to the top of this page for details on how to register for STAR, or view our detailed State Fund Online Registration Guide.
